ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it three straight wins coming out of the All-Star break as they take the field in the third game of a four-game set at Canal Park against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians). Erie has taken back-to-back two-run wins over the Aeros and they will look for their first series win of the season against their Southern Division rivals with either a win tonight or on Sunday. The 'Wolves have won three straight over the Aeros dating back to the last series played at Jerry Uht Park. Erie is a game over .500 against the Aeros at Canal Park (5-4). The 'Wolves and Aeros meet eight times during a 15 day span with the 'Wolves returning a week from Monday for another four-game series...Lefty Danny Christensen takes the mound for Erie. He is making his 19th start of the season and his fourth against the Aeros. He is 1-2 against Akron with the win coming on May 24 at Canal Park. His last outing was cut short due to the game being suspended in the bottom of the third inning on July 12 against Altoona. In the game, Christensen allowed four runs on six hits in three innings of work with a pair of strikeouts and no walks...Righty Fausto Carmona takes the mound for the Aeros. Carmona is on Major League rehab from the Indians. He is the second Indians pitcher to start against Erie this season. RHP Jake Westbrook faced the 'Wolves on May 23. Carmona is scheduled to go five innings/80 pitches. He was placed on the disabled list on May 24 with a left hip strain.
