July 19, 2008 - Eastern League (EL1)
New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and Team Emma's Enchantment are partnering through a ticket fundraiser at Merchantsauto.com Stadium on Tuesday, July 29 to support the Pan-Mass Challenge, an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts, raising money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. With the PMC Day Fundraiser, $3 from every ticket purchased via a special "Support PMC" link on www.nhfishercats.com for the Tuesday, July 29 7:05pm game between the Fisher Cats and the Portland Sea Dogs will benefit Team Emma's Enchantment/PMC.
"This will be a special opportunity for fans to enjoy a night of family entertainment while doing their part to support a very important cause," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "We are proud to join Team Emma's Enchantment in this fundraising partnership to help the PMC reach its ultimate goal of discovering cures for cancer."
"On behalf of Team Emma's Enchantment we are extremely grateful to the Fisher Cats organization in helping promote the PMC and their efforts in the fight against cancer," said Team Emma's Enchantment rider Tim Bechert.
If fans cannot attend the July 29 game, but still wish to support the cause, they will be able to purchase special fundraiser tickets through the "Support PMC" link on the team website for either the Monday, July 28 Fisher Cats/Sea Dogs 7:05pm game or any Sunday-through-Wednesday regular season home game in August, with $3 benefiting Team Emma's Enchantment/PMC.
"This flex-pack will give fans the convenience of supporting the fundraising effort even if they have other plans on July 29," said Brenner.
The Fisher Cats will wear specially-designed Team Emma's Enchantment uniforms during the Tuesday, July 29 game vs Portland. Fans can place bids during an Online Auction for the uniforms at www.nhfishercats.com. The high bids of the Online Auction will serve as the opening bids for a Silent Auction held during the July 29 Fisher Cats/Sea Dogs game. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the PMC. In addition, fans are welcome to participate in a pre-game bike parade around the warning track.
