ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves hit the road to begin a four-game series at Canal Park against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians). The 'Wolves and Aeros are meeting eight times in a 15-day span, all in Akron. Erie took three of four from the Aeros to pick up their first series win against the top team in the Southern Division July 17-20. The three wins for the 'Wolves were both by a pair of runs. The 'Wolves can even their record to .500 against Akron with a win tonight. Erie is 6-5 this season at Canal Park...The 'Wolves are 7-5 since the All-Star break...The Aeros enter tonight's game with the top record in the EL and are coming off of a series win over the Binghamton Mets. Akron has scuffled out of the gate since the break with a 4-8 record...Lefty Juan Cedeno makes a spot start tonight for Erie. It is four start of the season and fourth appearance against Akron. He is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three outings (4.1 IP) against Akron this season. Cedeno took a loss in his last outing against Binghamton going 3.2 innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits with two walks and three strikeouts. As a starter, Cedeno os 0-1 with a 6.10 ERA...Lefty Ryan Edell takes the mound for Akron, making his 21st start of the season and his fifth against Erie. He took a no-decision in his last outing against Altoona going six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts. In four starts against Erie, Edell is 1-3 with a 4.15 ERA (10 ER/21.1 IP). The 'Wolves beat Edell on July 18 at Canal Park. Erie is hitting .253 against Edell this season and overall, batting .255 against lefties. Will Rhymes is batting .300 against left-handed pitchers which leads the team.
