ELMIRA, NY - December 11, 2015 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, open their Star Wars Weekend tonight against the Manchester Monarchs. The Jackals are riding a three-game winning streak and have won nine of their 11 games.

MAGNIFYING THE MATCHUP
Tonight the Jackals will host the Manchester Monarchs for the second time this season. This meeting marks the third of 11 overall matchups and the second of six at First Arena. In the first meeting in Elmira, Spiro Goulakos scored his first professional goal on the power-play and Tyler Currier added a goal, but the Jackals fell 4-2. Mark Bennett earned his first professional point, an assist, in the loss. Elmira revenged its loss on November 18th in Manchester with a 2-1 victory in a Wednesday morning Education Day game. Niklas Lundstrom made his team debut and turned aside 46 of 47 shots faced to edge Elmira past the Monarchs. Spiro Goulakos and Scott Jacklin scored in the winning effort.
