Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL, in conjunction with The MeiGray Group, announced on Friday the opening of fan voting for the 2015-16 ECHL Fantasy Team.
The ECHL is giving fans the opportunity to vote for players to comprise the 2015-16 Fantasy Team, of which, one player from each Member Team will be selected to wear a special ECHL Fantasy Team jersey at an upcoming home game.
Forwards Josh Nicholls, Jack Combs and defenseman Sean Escobedo have been preselected to appear on the Swamp Rabbits' ballot, while fans have the opportunity to also write in a selection of their choice. The top vote-getter on each team will wear the special fantasy team jersey during the designated dates.
Voting is now open on ECHL.com. Fans are limited to one ballot during the voting period, which runs until 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, Dec. 21. Fans can vote for up to one player on each ECHL Member Team's ballot before hitting the "Cast Vote" button at the bottom of the voting page. The results of the Fantasy Team voting will be announced the week of Jan. 4.
"The Meigray/ECHL partnership has brought our fans authentic game-worn jerseys for over a decade now," said ECHL Director of Marketing and Licensing Todd Merton. "The ECHL is proud to partner with the MeiGray Group to once again provide our loyal fans the opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind jersey worn by their favorite player."
"The ECHL Fantasy Team jerseys get better and better each season," said MeiGray Group President Barry Meisel. "We hope the players like wearing them as much as fans like adding them to their game-worn jersey collections."
Fantasy Team jerseys will be available for bid starting in late February. A complete list of auction dates will be announced at a later date.
