Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA - The Johnstown Chiefs fell to the Augusta Lynx by a score of 6-4 on Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial.
Dmitri Tarabrin opened the scoring for the Chiefs, takin a long lead pass from John Adams and breaking in on Augusta goaltender Nathan Marsters, making a nifty move to beat him to the stick side at 4:53.
Augusta jumped right back into the game, getting power-play goals from Weston Tardy at 6:35 of the first and Ken Scuderi at 13:06. Garrett Bembridge fired a wrist shot past Chiefs goaltender Morgan Cey at 8:47 of the second period to give Augusta a 3-1 lead, and then Jamie Johnson scored shorthanded at 13:53.
Brandon Elliott scored on the power play at 19:07 of the second, picking up the rebound of a shot by Dmitri Tarabrin. Elliott would score his second of the game at 3:18 of the third, and Stanislav Lascek drew the Chiefs even with Augusta at four-apiece, scoring on the power-play at the 7:00 mark.
Augusta would regain the lead when Louis Goulet broke in shorthanded with Ryan Lang, burying a give-and-go to give Augusta a 5-4 lead at 11:46 of the third. The Lynx would add an insurance goal on a two-man advantage at 17:46, when the Chiefs had been assessed a pair of bench minors, with Sean Blanchard firing a wrist shot from the top of the slot past Chiefs goalie Gerald Coleman, who replaced Cey at the start of the third period.
On Sunday, January 28, the Chiefs take on the Dayton Bombers at 3:00 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive a bingo card, giving them a chance to win various prizes, including a season ticket for the 2007-08 season!
