Victoria Salmon Kings News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors had their five-game home win-streak stopped in its tracks as they fell to the Victoria Salmon Kings, 4-3, Friday night, in front of 6,973 at Rabobank Arena.

Bakersfield (24-12-4, 52 points) scored first in the most unlikely of fashions. With the Condors short-handed, David Kudelka broke down the right wing, centered the puck, and had it bounce off a defenseman and past Bryan Bridges to make it 1- 0 at 6:21 of the first period.

Victoria (16-26-1, 33 points) came back to tie at 10:36, when Wes Goldie stole a pass behind the net and banked the puck off Jamie Hodson and into the net to even it at 1-1.

The Salmon Kings took the lead at 18:24 of the first on a great three-on-two rush. Darryl Lloyd moved the puck to Robin Gomez, who fed Kyle McLeod in the slot, and he beat Hodson with a wrister to make it 2-1.

The Condors evened it 2-2 on the power-play at 4:42 of the second. Alex Kim tipped home a terrific cross-ice feed from Tyler Scott

But less than five minutes later, Victoria took the lead back when Jordan Krestanovich scored short-handed when his shot when off Hodson's glove and into the cage to make it 3-2.

Early in the third period, the Salmon Kings made it a two-goal bulge. On the power-play, Marc-Andre Bernier scored in his fourth straight game against Bakersfield at 3:42 to make it 4-2.

Bakersfield refused to quit, and tightened it up when Alex Kim scored on a pass from Andrew Ianiero at 9:21 to make it 4-3.

But despite good pressure, the Condors couldn't score again, and the win streak was done.

Notes: Kim now has five goals in five games with Bakersfield. Hodson suffered his first regulation loss since December 28th in Idaho.
