
El Paso Hands Explorers Sixth Straight Loss

El Paso, TX-----The Explorers went down to their sixth straight loss here Friday as El Paso took the first game of the three-game series with a 5-2 winner.
The two teams were tied at 2-2 through four innings before the Diablos took the lead with two runs in the fifth inning. Anthony D'Alfonso singled in the first run in the fifth followed by a run-scoring double by Juan Apodaca that gave El Paso a 4-2 lead.
The Diablos added their final run in the sixth inning that scored on the third error of the game by the Explorers.
The Explorers had eight hits led by Leugim Barroso, but the Explorers stranded ten base runners in the loss.
Ryan Lucero pitched six inning and was saddled with the loss dropping his record to 2-4 for the season.
The Explorers will try to break the sixth losing streak with a single game Saturday at Cohen Stadium against the Diablos. Game time will be 8:05pm Central.
