
Earthquakes Host Portland Timbers Tonight

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (3-2-0; 9 pts.) will host the Portland Timbers (1-3-0; 3 pts.) in their second straight home match tonight at PayPal Park in San Jose, presented by Rotten Robbie. The match kicks off at 7:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF. Tonight's match will also mark San Jose's third match within a span of nine days and the second of a three-match homestand.
The Quakes are currently in second place in the Western Conference and will enter Saturday's match with a 5-3-5 all-time home record against Portland. The Earthquakes will look to earn their first win over the Oregon side since April 6, 2019 (3-0).
The Portland Timbers enter Saturday's match with a 1-3-0 record and sit in 12th place in the Western Conference. Portland has proven to be a challenging opponent for San Jose historically, tallying 13 wins in 26 total meetings between the two clubs.
Chris Wondolowski, last week's MLS Player of the Week, has scored 11 career goals against the Timbers, most among all players in MLS history.
