An early Philadelphia Union (2-2-2, 8 points) goal downs the New York Red Bulls (2-3-0, 6 pts), 1-0 on Saturday night at Subaru Park.
New York dropped its third one-goal game of 2021. All four losses under Head Coach Gerhard Struber have been by one goal.
Philadelphia cashed in on a successful transition in the midfield as Cory Burke finished the play to the far post for the eventual game winner in the ninth minute.
Captain Sean Davis played his 143rd MLS regular-season match to move into sole possession of seventh place in franchise history. Davis surpassed Seth Stammler and NYRB II head coach John Wolyniec.
Davis also hit the 10,000 MLS regular-season minutes played.
Newly acquired right back Tom Edwards and Young Designated Player Patryk Klimala made their MLS debuts.
Austrian winger Daniel Royer surpassed 10,000 minutes across all competitions with New York.
