
Early Start Leads Las Vegas Past Utah

Las Vegas, Nevada - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Utah Grizzlies 4-1 Saturday night at Orleans Arena.
The Wranglers took a 2-0 lead with two goals in the first 5:24 before Utah settled in to outshoot them 30-18 to finish the contest while controlling the action. The Grizzlies were denied on 29 of 30 shots by Las Vegas goaltender Joe Fallon as they outshot the Wranglers 30-22 and 10-0 in the third period before a rush up ice gave the Wranglers an insurance goal with 5:04 left in regulation.
Colin Vock (9) made it 2-1 8:13 into the first period as he took a setup from Trevor Lewis and Brad Mills before that. The Grizzlies got on the board 2:49 after Las Vegas made it 2-0.
The lone goal in the second period was a Las Vegas power-play marker off of a rebound.
Utah and Las Vegas complete their weekend series Sunday. Face-off is at 3:05 p.m. from Orleans Arena.
The Grizzlies return home for five-straight games starting Friday and Saturday, January 11 and 12 with Las Vegas. It is Beer Fest with $3 premium beers and buy-one-get-one-free entrees from Angelina's Little Italy and El Pasado Cantina. After the game Saturday, fans can skate on the ice with the team for free. Skate rental is $2.
