MEMPHIS, TENN - The Memphis Redbirds lifted four home runs and drove in seven of their 12 runs with two outs to easily put away the Louisville Bats 12-3 on Wednesday afternoon at AutoZone Park.

Memphis struck early and often, plating two in the first inning on a homer from Conner Capel, adding a solo shot from Dennis Ortega in the bottom of the second and receiving a third big fly in as many innings with a solo home run from Nolan Goman to open the third.

Alfredo Rodriguez continued his torrid stretch to give the Bats signs of life in the fourth inning. The Bats first baseman roped a single back up the middle to score Alejo Lopez for his 19th hit in just 14 games in September.

The Redbirds didn't blink, however, immediately plating three more runs in the fourth on a double from Alec Burleson and two-run triple from Nick Plummer.

Up 7-1, Memphis still minded its swings in the fifth inning to coax three walks and send nine men to the plate as part of a five-run outburst. Burleson again drove home runs with a double en route to finishing 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs in the contest.

Beau Taylor chipped in a run for the Bats on a knock into left in the sixth and Michael De Leon collected an RBI of his own with a double into right that sailed over the in-pursuit outfielder's head.

Bats starter Riley O'Brien suffered the loss with seven runs on a season-high three homers over 3.2 innings.

The two teams continue their series Thursday at 7:45 p.m. at AutoZone park. RHP Zach Lee (3-4, 6.78) gets the spot start against LHP Connor Thomas (5-4, 3.66).
