Colorado Eagles News Release

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles of the ECHL announced today that they've signed amateur forward Jordan Baker. Baker joins defenseman Isaac Smeltzer & fellow forward Teegan Moore as amateurs signed by the team in the past 10 days.

Baker joins Colorado's roster after completing his collegiate career at Michigan Tech (the same alma mater as Eagles captain Riley Nelson). In four seasons with the Huskies (his 2010-11 season was wiped out by injury), the 5-foot-7-inch, 170-pound forward registered 82 points (38-44-82) in 146 games. In his sophomore season, he led his team in scoring and was named their Most Valuable Player.

Prior to attending Michigan Tech, the Chestermere, Alberta native played three seasons with the Olds Grizzlys of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, where he tallied 109 points (56-53-109) in 122 games, twice being selected as an AJHL South Division All-Star. That goal scoring and point production helped his Canadian Pacific U-17 team take home a silver medal during the 2005 World Junior Hockey Championships.

Baker is scheduled to be in the lineup tonight when the Eagles play the Utah Grizzlies. Tonight's game is the first of back-to-back in Utah and wraps up the team's penultimate week of the regular season.
