Stingrays Add University of New Hampshire Team Captain

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, announced today that the team has signed defenseman Damon Kipp. In keeping with club policy, details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Kipp, 23, completed his senior season at the University of New Hampshire scoring four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 35 games and served as the team captain. In four seasons with the Wildcats, the Salmon Arm, British Columbia, native acquired 79 points (16g, 63a) in 160 contests. During his freshman and sophomore seasons, Kipp was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team. Before attending college, the 6-foot, 205-pound defenseman skated four seasons of junior hockey with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks netting 59 points (11g, 48a) in 114 games.

The Stingrays battle the Florida Everblades tonight, Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena and return to the North Charleston Coliseum for Fan Appreciation Night and The Post and Courier Hall of Fame Night on Saturday, March 31 against the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:05 p.m. Cast your vote for this season's Stingrays Hall of Fame inductee at StingraysHockey.com !
