When: Puck drops at 6:30 pm
Where: Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo, MI
Tonight's Matchup:
The Express moved back into a tie for ninth place in the Eastern Conference on Wednesday, after falling 4-1 to the Cincinnati Cyclones on Wednesday. It was a hard fought battle, that saw Cincinnati take a 2-0 lead into the second intermission on the strength of two power play markers. The offense opened up in the third, but it was the Cyclones who prevailed, grabbing on to eighth place in the East. Kalamazoo has been playing well of late, as they are 2-0-0-1 in their last three games. Kalamazoo has not hit the ice since Sunday, when they crushed the Toledo Walleye by a 9-1 score. The Wings are the second highest scoring team in the Eastern Conference, as they have struck 240 times on the season. The only team in the East with more goals scored is Florida, who have potted 241.
Express Notes:
After starting the season off with an 0-2-1 record at Wings Stadium, the Express have won three of their last four games in Kalamazoo. They are now 3-3-1 in Kalamazoo this year... The Express have been carried by their power play lately, as they have scored nine power play goals and five even-strength goals in their last five games... Wednesday's game marked the first time in four games that Chicago did not score on the power play... D Taylor Ellington had his five game assist streak snapped on Wednesday. He had six assists during that span.
Recent Transactions:
F Johan Ryd was signed to an ATO on Wednesday... F Kyle Ostrow was activated from the 3-day IR on Wednesday... F Matt Gingera was released from his ATO on Tuesday.
