BROOMFIELD, CO - Colorado Eagles Vice President and Head Coach Chris Stewart became the third man in Central Hockey League history to win 300 games Friday night with his win over the Rocky Mountain Rage.

Stewart is now third on the CHL's all-time coaching list in wins with a record of 300-130-42. His winning percentage is .680 which also ranks him third on the CHL's all-time winning percentage list. He has coached in 472 games ranking him fourth in CHL history. Stewart's Eagles have been the winningest team in the CHL since entering the league in 2003 with a record of 138-42-18.

"This is a testament to his coaching capabilities, endurance and desire to win every time his players step on the ice," said Eagles President and General Manager Ralph Backstrom. "We are proud to have him as the coach of the Colorado Eagles and excited to share in the celebration of this accomplishment."

A native of Red Deer, Alberta, Stewart is in his fourth season with the Eagles and eighth overall in the CHL. He became only the second coach in CHL/WPHL history to win a championship with two different teams, his first was with the Huntsville Channel Cats in 1999 and the second with the Eagles in 2005. In his eight seasons, Stewart has never had a losing record and he has won 40 or more games in all but one season in the CHL. He was named the 1998 Coach of the Year in the CHL and has coached represented his conference three times in the All-Star Game. Prior to coaching at the CHL level, Stewart spent 15 seasons coaching Canadian Junior 'A' hockey where he produced 46 National Hockey League draft picks, coached in six all-star games and was named Coach of the Year four times.
