LOVELAND, CO- The Wichita Thunder lost 4-2 to the Colorado Eagles at the Budweiser Events Center on Saturday night. The Eagles grabbed a 1-0 lead late in the first period on a power play goal from Riley Nelson at 17:57. Nelson carried the puck to the high slot before connecting on a high slap shot. Scott Campbell saved 12 of 13 in the period.

Colorado extended their lead to 2-0 at 7:36 in the second when Kevin Ulanski slipped a loose puck through Campbell's five-hole. The Thunder cut the lead in half at 12:37 on a goal from Jason Reese. Tomas Klempa made a centering pass from the corner that reese banged in from point-blank range.

Joel Hanson tied the game at 5:12 in the thrid, cleaning up a rebound left by Jason Reese. Reese and Klempa finished the game with two points. Riley Nelson scored his second goal of the night at 12:36 to give the Eagles a 3-2 lead. Kevin Cooper was bumped into Scott Campbell, which allowed Nelson to jam the puck in around the left post. Ed McGrane scored an empty net goal with 1.4 seconds left to seal the game.

Campbell saved 41 of 44 in the loss, while Andrew Penners was 21 of 23 for the win. Wichita went 0 for 3 on the power play while Colorado went 1 for 2. Hanson has seven points in his last four games. Klempa has 11 in his last five.
