Portland Sea Dogs News Release
PORTLAND, Maine (June 3, 2009) - Dunkin' Donuts shops in Maine announced today that they have partnered with the Portland Sea Dogs to create a "Dunkin' Dugout" program that will closely mirror what Dunkin' does with the Sea Dogs' parent club, the Boston Red Sox.
Dunkin' will begin accepting submissions from youth and charitable organizations on June 1st. One group will be chosen to receive approximately 20 tickets free of charge-courtesy of Dunkin'-for each of the following games:
- Tuesday, June 16 vs. Erie SeaWolves, 7 p.m. (Zooperstars)
- Tuesday, June 30 vs. New Britain Rock Cats, 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, July 1 vs. New Britain Rock Cats, 6 p.m. (Doubleheader)
- Tuesday, July 7 vs. Binghamton Mets, 7 p.m. (Justin Masterson bobblehead)
- Monday, July 13 vs. New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 12 p.m.
- Friday, July 24 vs. New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 4 vs. Altoona Curve, 7 p.m. (Zooperstars)
- Friday, Aug. 7 vs. Bowie Baysox, 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 19 vs. Reading Phillies, 7 p.m.
- Monday. Aug. 24 vs. Harrisburg Senators, 7 p.m.
The nomination process is easy. If you know a deserving camp, school, youth group, etc. just send an email to dunkindugout@gmail.com that briefly describes the organization and why it should attend a game. Dunkin' and the Sea Dogs will work together to select and notify the winners.
Each of the winning groups will be recognized during pre-game ceremonies at Hadlock Field.
"Dunkin' franchisees throughout the state have longstanding relationships with youth groups in their various communities. This is just another way for Dunkin' to give back to these youth groups," said Dana Hackett, field marketing manager for Dunkin' in Maine. "It's exciting to see the smiles on the faces of kids who might not get to attend Sea Dogs games that often."
This is the second baseball-related promotion Dunkin' Donuts shops in Maine have carried out since the beginning of baseball season. To celebrate the start of Iced Coffee season, Dunkin' awarded 50 lucky Mainers two tickets each to an upcoming Red Sox game.
Dunkin' will unveil another Sea Dogs-themed promotion later this summer. Stay tuned for more details.
