Fisher Cats Lose 4-0 Wednesday Night at Harrisburg

Harrisburg, PA---Todd Donovan went 2-for-4 with two singles and extended his consecutive on-base streak to 18 games, but the Fisher Cats failed to score for the second straight night, losing 4-0 in Harrisburg on Wednesday.

Harrisburg (15-34) scored four runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning against starter and loser Luis Perez (4-5). Matt Whitney doubled and Jemel Spearman reached on a sacrifice bunt. Michael Martinez (2-for-3, 2B, RBI) doubled Whitney home to make it 1-0. Ofilio Castro tripled Spearman and Martinez in to make it 3-0. Joel Guzman doubled Castro home to give the Senators a 4-0 lead.

The Fisher Cats (26-28) had opportunities in the top of the third, fourth and fifth innings when they produced two hits in each frame, but were unable to score.

Zack Segovia worked four scoreless innings at Harrisburg's starter. Andrew Kown (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings in relief to earn the win. Dave Williams retired all six Fisher Cats he faced to close out the game.

Perez worked seven innings, allowing seven hits and four runs. He did not walk a batter and struck out six. Sean Stidfole pitched a perfect eighth inning.

The Fisher Cats conclude the roadtrip Thursday afternoon in Harrisburg. LHP Marc Rzepczynski (6-5, 3.81) starts for New Hampshire. The Senators will counter with LHP Justin Jones (2-7, 5.72). Game time is 12:00pm and radio coverage begins at 11:45am with the BayRing Pre-Game Show on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman.

New Hampshire returns home on Friday, June 5 to begin a three-game series with Reading.
