ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it two straight wins as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the third game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. The âWolves took down the Curve last night in a thrilling come-from-behind 12-9 victory. Erie rallied from down eight runs for its 10th win of the season against Altoona. The eight-run deficit was the largest overcome by the âWolves this season. The win, coupled with an Akron loss, puts the âWolves just three games behind the first place Aeros in the EL South. Erie, with a 30-20 record, is the second-best team in the EL. Erie also maintained its two-game lead over third place Reading. The SeaWolves hold the best home record and home winning percentage in the EL (20-8 with a .714 winning percentage). Last night also marked Erie's fifth comeback win when trailing after the sixth. It was the third comeback win against the Curve...Righty Alfredo Figaro takes the mound for the Howlers, making his ninth start of the season and third against Altoona. Figaro picked up his first win since April 23 in his last start against Akron. In the game, he went five innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Figaro is 1-0 with a no-decision against Altoona. He tossed seven hitless innings against the Curve on April 16 at Blair County Ballpark...Righty Mike Crotta takes the mound for Altoona, making his 10th start of the season and third against Erie. He is 1-0 with a no-decision in his previous two starts against the âWolves. Crotta took a loss in his last start against Trenton on May 29 going 4.1 innings, allowing six runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
