Duggar's league-high 27th double leads quiet offense

Sacramento River Cats News Release
RENO, NV - After two straight games with near-miraculous comebacks, the Sacramento River Cats' (39-50) offense could not get anything going against the Reno Aces (41-48), eventually dropping game four of the series 8-1.
River Cats starter Mike Connolly allowed three-run home runs in the first and third innings as Sacramento found themselves trailing 7-1 early. Connolly was able to recover to get through five innings, but the damage was already done.
Outfielder Steven Duggar knocked his team-high 27th double in the third, then Kelby Tomlinson drove him in with an RBI single to put the River Cats on the board. However, the River Cats would scratch out just three more singles for the rest of the game to eventually fall 8-1.
Tyler Beede came in to relieve Connolly in the sixth and kept the River Cats in the game by putting up zeros in the sixth and seventh innings. It was the ninth relief appearance of the season for Beede after making 10 starts.
Right-hander Jordan Johnson (0-1, 7.20) makes his second start for the River Cats in their final game before the All-Star break, and the Aces will send left-hander Alex Young (2-3, 8.21) to the hill in the series finale. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. (PT). Catch all of the action live online at rivercats.com, on the MiLB First Pitch app, and on the air on Money 105.FM.
Additional Notes
* Duggar's 27 doubles leads the Pacific Coast League. He's now hit two in July after hitting ten doubles during the month of June. He currently trails Columbus Clippers' outfielder Brandon Barnes by just one for the Triple-A doubles lead (28).
* Beede had another strong outing from the bullpen by striking out three batters and allowing just one hit in two innings. He has allowed six earned runs in 9.2 innings since making his first relief appearance on June 17.
