July 7, 2018 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Fresno Grizzlies News Release

In Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, the Las Vegas 51s (42-47) held on to defeat the Fresno Grizzlies (51-37) 5-4 at Chukchansi Park. 51s starter Nabil Crismatt (1-0) earned the win in his Triple-A debut. He hurled five innings, scattering six hits, four runs (earned), while walking a pair and striking out three.

Las Vegas inched out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the third after a bases-loaded walk.

That would be all for Fresno starter Josh James (no-decision). He lasted three innings, giving up one run (earned), on four walks while whiffing a pair.

Jack Mayfield knotted the game at one in the bottom of the fourth when he powered a double to center, plating Taylor Jones (hit-by-pitch).

A four-run top of the six stretched the 51s advantage to 5-1. Colton Plaia's sacrifice fly to right added Luis Guillorme (single). Then, Ty Kelly smoked a double to right, scoring Patrick Kivlehan. Finally, a Zach Borenstein double to left knocked in two.

The Grizzlies cut the deficit to 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth when Mayfield spanked Jones home with a single to left. Then, Nick Tanielu ripped a double off the center field wall, bringing in Yordan Alvarez. The lefty doubled for his first Triple-A hit prior to the run. Finally, a force out pushed the Las Vegas lead to one.

Jacob Rhame slammed the door with his ninth save after striking out a pair in two innings, giving the 51s a 5-4 victory.

Reymin Guduan (3-2) suffered the loss despite punching out five.
