Late Rally Sends Dodgers to 6-5 Win

Oklahoma City - Angelo Mora connected on a two-run single to top the Oklahoma City Dodgers' four-run rally in the eighth inning as the Dodgers defeated the Express, 6-5, Saturday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Dodgers took the field in retro Oklahoma City 89ers uniforms and snapped a nine-game home losing skid with the victory.

Oklahoma City (46-38) also picked up its first win of the current five-game series against the Express.

The Dodgers trailed 5-2 entering the eighth inning Saturday in front of a sellout crowd of 10,369.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, Andrew Toles singled before Connor Joe walked and Kyle Garlick singled to load the bases. After a Round Rock pitching change, Edwin RÃ-os drew a bases-loaded walk to score Toles and cut the Express lead to two runs.

Later in the inning with two outs and the bases loaded again, Travis Taijeron drew a walk to cut Round Rock's advantage to 5-4.

Mora followed and lined a single into right field to bring home two runs and put the Dodgers in front, 6-5.

Dodgers reliever Brian Schlitter then retired the Express in order in the top of the ninth inning to seal the win and earn his 11th save of the season.

Round Rock (42-46) took the game's first lead for the fourth time in the series, which it now leads, 3-1.

The Express tallied five singles in the first inning and scored three runs, including a RBI single by Andy Ibanez and two-run single by Cliff Pennington to take a 3-0 lead.

Round Rock loaded the bases with three walks in the fourth inning for former Dodgers Willie Calhoun, but Calhoun popped out to second base to keep the score, 3-0, and end the inning.

Joe led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a single for Oklahoma City. Later with two outs, Kyle Farmer drilled a home run out to left field to cut Round Rock's lead to 3-2. The home run was Farmer's fourth of the season with Oklahoma City.

Round Rock quickly answered in its next at-bat. Carlos Perez, on rehab assignment from the Rangers, connected on a two-out RBI double to left field to extend Round Rock's lead to 4-2 in the fifth inning.

Perez then belted a solo home run out to left field to lead off the eighth inning for Round Rock, giving the Express a 5-2 edge before the Dodgers' comeback in the bottom of the frame.

Garlick went 3-for-4 and scored a run for the Dodgers. He is now 11-for-25 over his last seven games and is 8-for-12 during the current series.

Dodgers starting pitcher Manny Bañuelos returned from a brief stint on the disabled list and allowed four runs (three in the first inning) and nine hits over 5.0 innings. He issued four walks and totaled seven strikeouts.

Reliever Zach Neal (1-0) followed and made his first appearance with Oklahoma City since April following a trade to and from Cincinnati. He picked up the win, allowing one run and two hits over 3.0 innings with one walk and four strikeouts.

Round Rock reliever Jeffrey Springs (0-2) allowed Oklahoma City's go-ahead run in the eighth inning and was charged with the loss.

The Dodgers' final series before the PCL All-Star Break wraps up with a 1:05 p.m. game Sunday against the Express at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The game falls on a Chaparral Energy Family Sunday, featuring pregame player autographs, a mascot meet-and-greet, face painters, inflatables and postgame kids run the bases.

Five hundred OERB Player of the Month posters, featuring June winner Edwin RÃ-os, will be available to children ages 12 and under as they exit the ballpark Sunday. The posters will showcase an action shot of the RÃ-os, who was selected through a social media poll, as well as informational OERB graphics about well site safety.

Cox Communications will televise the game live on YurView on Cox (Channel 1333) beginning five minutes before first pitch.
