Greenville, SC - Clutch hitting and terrific pitching will win a baseball game more often than not, and the Greenville Drive (29-28) did just that in a 3-1 victory over the Lexington Legends (24-34) on Tuesday night at Fluor Field.

Carlos Asuaje did the heavy lifting on offense for the Drive, bringing home all three runs with a pair of big hits. With the game still scoreless in the bottom of the sixth, Jimmy Rider hit a two-out single and moved to third on Jantzen Witte's ground-rule double. Asuaje then stroked a two-run triple to deep center field against Lexington starter Luke Farrell (1-4).

For good measure, Asuaje gave the Drive an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth when he grounded an RBI single to right to score Forrestt Allday, who began the frame with a double to left-center.

Jacob Dahlstrand (4-3) picked up the victory after allowing just one run in four innings of relief to close out the game. He gave up three hits and one walk and struck out one.

The Drive got an outstanding start from Trey Ball, who received a tough luck no-decision after hurling five shutout innings and only giving up four hits and one walk while striking out three.

Farrell, the son of Red Sox Manager John Farrell, matched Ball pitch-for-pitch for five and two-third innings until Asuaje's triple knocked him out of the game. He gave up four hits and two runs while not issuing a walk and punching out three.

Asuaje was 2-4 with three RBI to lead the way for Greenville, and Rider added a pair of hits. Dominique Taylor and Ramon Torres each collected two hits for Lexington.

The Drive will send RH Jamie Callahan (2-4, 6.55) to the mound on Wednesday night as they go for the series sweep at 7:05. The Legends will counter with RH Jake Junis (5-3, 3.41).
