2014 South Atlantic League All Stars Announced

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -Eric Krupa, president of the South Atlantic League, has announced the rosters for the 55th Annual SAL All-Star Game, scheduled to be played on June 17, 2014, at L.P. Frans Stadium in Hickory, North Carolina, home of the Hickory Crawdads. Both the southern and northern all-star teams will be represented by 26 players, selected by the votes of the team's managers and coaching staffs, local media and front office executives.

Representing the Rome Braves will be pitcher Yean Carlos Gil, catcher Victor Caratini, and outfielder Victor Reyes. Currently Gil is 3-2 with a 1.70 ERA in 12 appearances while Caratini is hitting .293 with 16 RBI and Reyes is batting .306 with 25 RBI. " This is nice recognition for our player's level of play," says Rome General Manger Michael Dunn. "It's a compliment to the staff for getting them prepared to play every day and excel in our league."

The 2014 SAL Hall of Fame class will be inducted as well including former Rome Braves manager Randy Ingle He joins General Manager Michael Dunn who was inducted in 2010.

L.P. Frans Stadium will be hosting it second SAL All-Star Game. The other time the All-Star Game was held in Hickory was in 1994, when the National League All-Stars defeated the American League All-Stars 9-5. The annual All-Star Game dates to 1960, when the All-Stars defeated the Salisbury club, 6-2, in Newton, NC.
