Dragons Re-tool Staff with Addition of Mallett

Dayton, OH - RHP Justin Mallett has been added to the Dayton Dragons active roster and will be available to pitch when the Dragons open up a four game series at Oldsmobile Park against the Lansing Lugnuts. Mallett joins the Dragons from Reds extended spring training in Sarasota, Florida. Mallett, signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2003, spent the 2004 season in Dayton posting a 4-5 record with a 4.02 ERA in 18 games, compiling 78.1 innings of work.

To make room for Mallett on the Dragons roster, the Reds sent RHP Logan Ondrusek to extended spring training in Sarasota. Ondrusek, was the Reds 13th round selection in the 2005 First Year Player Draft. In seven games with Dayton, Ondrusek was 1-2 with a 4.61 ERA. Ondrusek pitched 2.0 scoreless innings for Dayton in Monday's 8-7 10 inning loss to the Beloit Snappers, with two strikeouts.
