Bees' starter David Henninger (1-3) retired just one man and came out after facing just seven batters in the game. The Chiefs lead on the Bees extends to two games in the chase for a spot in the post-season.

Yusuf Carter singled to left to drive in the first run. Mark Reed singled off the glove of a ranging Josh Johnson at second to drive in two more and then Kyle Reynolds singled to drive in Carter for a 4-0 lead. The inning ended when Mario Lisson made a back hand stop on a ball down the left field line off the bat of Davy Gregg and caught Reynolds in a rundown after a big turn around the bag at third. Harkcom worked through a season-high 4.2 inning and allowed just one more run on a solo homer by Reynolds in the top of the fourth. Eliezer Garcia and Gilbert De La Vara each pitched two scoreless innings to finish the game.

The Bees tried to chip away against Chiefs' starter Scott Taylor (2-2), but couldn't catch up. In the bottom of the second, Miguel Vega led off with a double and scored on a two-out single by Jose Duarte to get the Bees on the board. In the fifth, Antonio Sabatini tripled off the wall in right and scored on a double by Johnson.
