Dragons place two on DL, add outfielder

Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster moves today:

Right-handed relief pitcher Junior Martinez has been placed on the disabled list with a strained right knee.

Outfielder Andrew Means has been placed on the disabled list with a strained right wrist.

Outfielder Alex Oliveras has been promoted to Dayton from Billings of the Pioneer League.

Martinez suffered the injury on Wednesday night in the eighth inning at Wisconsin. He has appeared in 17 games with the Dragons, posting a record of 2-1 with a 9.15 earned run average.

Means aggravated a sprained wrist on Wednesday night and left the game. He is batting .262 with two home runs, 10 runs batted in, and 19 stolen bases in 19 attempts with the Dragons.

Oliveras was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the ninth round in 2007 out of Puerto Rico. The 20-year-old left-handed hitter batted .270 with one home run and 16 runs batted in with Billings, playing in 28 games.

The Dragons roster is currently at 24 players, one below the Midwest League limit.
