Today's Game: The Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the Hot Rods (affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) in the first game of a three-game set. Season Series: Dayton 8, Bowling Green 6 (At Dayton: Bowling Green 5, Dayton 3).

Last Game: Quad Cities defeated Dayton 5-0 to complete a sweep of the three-game series. Shelby Miller, the top-rated prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and no walks to earn the win. The Dragons had only three base runners in the game and sent just 28 batters to the plate, one over the minimum. Homer Bailey started for Dayton on a rehab assignment from Cincinnati and suffered the loss, allowing three runs in four innings of work.
Today's Starting Pitcher: Justin Walker makes his 16th start of the season tonight after beginning the year in the Dayton bullpen. In his last start last Thursday against Cedar Rapids, he suffered the loss (4.0 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO). Walker leads the club in quality starts with six. Walker split 2009 season between Dayton and Billings, going a combined 1-5, 3.65. He worked 56.2 innings, allowing 59 hits with 10 walks and 54 strikeouts. He walked just seven batters in 65 innings of college baseball in 2008 with Lamar University, going 2-2, 4.85 in 19 games (seven starts). He posted a combined record of 18-1 over his junior and senior seasons at Nederland High School in Nederland, Texas.
