Today's Game: The Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the Whitecaps (affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) in the last game of a four-game set.

Last Game: West Michigan defeated Dayton 8-3 to pull to within a game of a sweep of the four-game series. The Dragons led 2-0 before West Michigan scored two in the sixth and three in the seventh to take a 5-2 lead. Dragons starting pitcher Daniel Corcino pitched well in his MWL debut. Corcino did not allow a run until the sixth. His final line including six innings, five hits, two earned runs, with three walks and four strikeouts. Dayton collected nine hits. Kevyn Feiner led the way with two hits including a double and triple. Henry Rodriguez and Chase Weems had two hits.
Today's Starting Pitcher: Ricky Bowen will make his 11th start of the season tonight. Bowen suffered the loss in his last start on Thursday at Lake County (4.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 1 SO). He began the season in extended spring training and joined the Dragons on May 25. Bowen was selected by the Reds in the 43rd round of the 2009 draft out of Mississippi State University. After signing with the Reds last summer, Bowen logged just 14.1 innings, going 0-2, 6.28 with Billings (Pioneer League). Bowen went 2-3, 8.44 at MSU as a junior in the spring of 2009. Bowen, 22, is a native of Jasper, Alabama.

* Mark Fleury has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games and is batting .333 over his last 30 games. He batted .352 in July to tie for eighth in the league. He is batting .316 in the second half to tie for the team lead.
