
Devils Assign Clermont, Johnson to Orlando

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced that G Maxime Clermont and F Ben Johnson have been assigned to the team by the New Jersey Devils (NHL) from the Albany Devils (AHL). The Solar Bears host the Cincinnati Cyclones tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the Amway Center.
Clermont (6-0, 200 lbs.) has played in 12 games for the Solar Bears this season, going 6-4-1 with a 3.63 GAA and .877 save percentage. He has appeared in six games with Albany, posting a 5-1-0 record with a 2.32 GAA and .906 save percentage. Clermont has played in 111 games during his ECHL career, collecting a 50-39-11 record with a 3.36 GAA and .893 save percentage.
Johnson (6-0, 195 lbs.) was drafted in the third round (#90 overall) by the New Jersey Devils in the 2012 NHL Draft. He joins the Solar Bears after skating in 25 games for Albany this season, scoring one goal and adding one assist. The rookie forward made his professional debut at the end of last season, earning one assist in five games with Albany.
Prior to joining the professional ranks, Johnson played three seasons (2011-14) with the Windsor Spitfires (OHL), registering 128 points on 66 goals and 62 assists in 191 games. He finished third on Windsor in points (53) last season, behind Solar Bears forward Brady Vail.
