
Escobedo Returns to Road Warriors

Wheeling, WV - The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced defenseman Sean Escobedo has been returned from loan to Hartford. He is expected to play tonight against Wheeling.
In his first season with the Road Warriors, Escobedo has recorded 15 points (3g, 12a), 32 penalty minutes and ranks third on the team with a +16 rating in 44 contests. In addition, the 24-year old has produced six points (1g, 5a) in his last five ECHL games, including his first career three-point performance (1g, 2a) on February 14th against Evansville.
Escobedo played two games with the Wolf Pack during his recent call-up to the American Hockey League and registered one shot on goal. He debuted with Hartford last Friday, Feb. 27th at Manchester.
A native of Bayside, New York, Escobedo spent the majority of his rookie campaign last season with the ECHL's Stockton Thunder, where he recorded 15 points (6g, 9a), 57 penalty minutes and a +2 rating in 50 games. He also made his AHL debut with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on November 16th, 2013 and ironically, played against Hartford in a 4-1 setback.
Prior to turning pro, the 6'1, 205-pound defenseman played four seasons at Boston University from 2009-2013. He registered 33 points (6g, 27a) and 208 penalty minutes in 145 career games.

On Saturday, March 7th, the Road Warriors will rematch against the Everblades at 7:00 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive a blue Warriors mesh hat courtesy of FOX Carolina and WESC 92.5. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to meet ECHL Hall of Fame Inductee and Commissioner Emeritus, Patrick J. Kelly as well as get an up close look at the ECHL's championship trophy, the Kelly Cup! Fans can meet Mr. Kelly, get autographs and have their picture taken with one of the ECHL's true icons and the trophy named in his honor!
True Blue Weekend wraps up on Sunday, March 8th when the South Carolina Stingrays visit Greenville at 3:00 p.m. The Warrior Fun Pack will also be available for this matinee game and fans can take part in the final post-game skate with the team this season!
