Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, announced today that LW Mark Derlago has been returned on loan from the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League and D Donny Grover has been activated off 3-day IR. They are expected to be back in the Bakersfield lineup on Wednesday night against the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Derlago, 22, was leading the Condors in scoring and was fourth in the ECHL with 20 points through his first 12 games of the season when he was recalled by Manitoba on Nov. 25. His 9g-11a-20pts still ranks seventh on the team, even though he has missed the last 19 games. In 21 AHL games this season, the Brandon, Manitoba, native has 4g-5a-9pts with six penalty minutes.

The 2008-09 season is Derlago's second in the pro ranks. He was named to the National Conference All-Star Team on Dec. 30, alongside fellow Condors F Matt Pope. Derlago led the ECHL in goals by a rookie last season (39), and set Condors rookie records for goals and points (57). He recorded a hat trick in his season debut this year, on Oct. 29 in Ontario, and had a seven-game point streak (4g-9a-13pts) at the time of his recall by Manitoba.

In other roster moves, Bakersfield has also activated D Donny Grover from the 3-IR today. Grover, who turns 26 on Saturday, was acquired in a trade last week from the Cincinnati Cyclones. RW Mike Wirll has been placed on 3-IR and will be eligible to be activated on Saturday, Jan. 17. D Kevin Truelson was placed on Team Suspension on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
