Jackals Win 6-3

Elmira, NY- After being stunned 6-3 last night the Elmira Jackals fired back with a 6-3 win tonight over the Dayton Bombers. Three power play goals and an empty netter solidified the Jackals 17th win of the season. They now sit one point out of the final playoff spot in the North Division.

The Jackals opened the scoring on the power play just 3:36 into the first period. Nathan Lutz and Pierre-Luc Faubert set up Brandon Roach who blasted a slap shot home from the far point. The Jackals power play struck again at the 6:35 mark to make it 2-0. Pierre-Luc Faubert's 11th of the season was assisted by Brandon Roach and Moises Gutierrez. The Jackals peppered the shot category in the first period 11-4.

Like last nights third period, tonight's second would be full of goals, six to be exact. The first came at the 0:16 mark on a Paul McIlveen shot that rolled into the back of the net for a 3-0 Jackal lead. Elmira extended the lead to 4-0 at the 5:31 mark on a power play tally from Steve Yetman. Paul McIlveen picked up his second point of the night on the assist. The Bombers would grab their first goal of the game at 7:13 when Nino Musitelli netted his first of the game. 29 seconds later the Bombers struck again, this time Ryan Smyth from Danny LaPointe and Christian Gaudet. The Jackals would advance the lead to 5-2 at the 14:53 mark on Chris Korchinski's 7th point in three games. Derek Couture assisted on the play. Dayton ended the second period with Musitelli's second of the game at the 17:07 mark.

Holding good pressure and a 5-3 lead into third period the Jackals would hang on with big saves from David Shantz and an empty net goal from Pierre-Luc Faubert to help the Jackals to their 18th win of the year.

With the win the Jackals improve to 18-16-1-3 while the Bombers fall to 21-14-1-3.
