Johnson Returns to Rays

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/General Manager Jared Bednar announced today that forward Keith Johnson has been returned to South Carolina from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Johnson, who was originally called up to the Pirates on Dec. 29, played seven games with Portland tallying 2 points (1g, 1a) and six penalty minutes. The Windsor, CT native is in his second professional year of hockey after splitting last season between the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL.

This season, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound forward has 18 points (8g, 10a) in 28 games with the Rays. Johnson is tied for second on the team with five power play goals.

The South Carolina Stingrays are back in action tomorrow night against the Florida Everblades at 7:05p.m. This game was originally schedule for Friday, Jan. 16th and all tickets for the 16th will be valid tomorrow. It's Hospitality and College Night at the game. Anyone with either a valid college ID or pay stub from the hospitality, golf, or food and beverage industry can purchase a ticket at the Coliseum Box Office for only $5.

Stingrays Pack the House this Saturday Night as the team takes on the Mississippi Sea Wolves at 7:05 p.m. Tickets to the game are just $5 anywhere in the building and it's FREE parking. Saturday is also Win-Win Night at the Rays. If the Stingrays stop the Sea Wolves, everyone in attendance will receive a free ticket to the game on Tuesday, Feb. 24th.
