PREVIEW: Delmarva opens it's final homestand of the first half with a seven game stretch against Lakewood and Kannapolis. The BlueClaws return to town after splitting a four game set with the Shorebirds in the last weekend in May. The Shorebirds finished up a six game road trip with a 2-4 mark against Greensboro and Wet Virginia, while Lakewood just finished their homestand 3-3 against Hickory and Lexington. Since the Shorebirds opened the season with a 4-6 mark and lost two of the first three series, they have a series record of 9-3-2 over their last 14 sets, going 28-19 over that stretch. There are 12 games left for the Shorebirds in the first half, and they enter the evening four games behind division-leading Hagerstown.

TONIGHT'S OPPONENT: Right-hander Franklyn Kilome takes the ball to open the weekend series. Kilome's only win this season came against the Shorebirds on May 27, when he allowed three runs on eight hits over six innings. This is his third start against the Shorebirds this season. On May 21, he gave up just one run on five hits, but didn't earn a decision. Since starting the season 0-3 with a 15.83 ERA, he is 1-2 over his last six starts with a 3.62 ERA. Kilome signed as an international free agent with the Phillies in 2013. He makes his 32nd appearance as a pro and his 29th career start tonight.

LAST GAME QUICK HITS: After the Shorebirds played essentially three games in two days (29 innings on Monday and Tuesday), the offense didn't have enough left in the tank as the sweep-attempt fell short in West Virginia, 7-2. Delmarva managed just four hits against Logan Sendelbach, who earned his fourth win of the year. Yermin Mercedes finished the game 0-4, bringing his hit-less streak to 12 plate appearances (11 at bats). Jimenez gave the 'Birds six decent innings.
