Defenseman Ryan Grimshaw Joins Stingrays

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that defenseman Ryan Grimshaw has joined the team from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Grimshaw, 23, dressed in 16 games with the Marlies netting one assist. Acquired by the Stingrays in a trade with the Trenton Titans on March 7, the Rochester, New York, native recorded six points (three goals, three assists) in 23 games with the Titans earlier this season. Currently in his first full professional season, Grimshaw attended Harvard University for four seasons totaling 26 points (four goals, 22 assists) in 121 contests.

The Stingrays kick off the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs with Game 1 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Friday, April 5 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.
