Ontario Reign News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, are pleased to announce Robert Barrett of Rancho Cucamonga, as the winner of a brand new 2013 Toyota Tacoma, in conjunction with Toyota of Southern California.

Barrett, 41, was the winner of a competition as part of Ontario's Fan Appreciation Night festivities. Over the course of the 2012-13 regular season, fans could purchase Chuck-a-Pucks for charity to throw into the flatbed of the truck during an intermission at each Reign home game.

Barrett was one of 36 fans selected to return to Citizens Business Bank Arena for Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, March 30, for a chance to participate in the competition to win the truck.

During the first intermission of Ontario's match against the visiting Alaska Aces, all eligible participants made their way to center ice, where each one was given a frozen t-shirt and the first three to unwrap their t-shirts and put them on were allowed to advance to the final elimination round, where Barrett and the other two contestants were given five chances to score into an empty net.

By netting three goals in five attempts, Barrett was the winner of the 2013 Toyota Tacoma.

"I had practiced a little bit earlier in the day in the garage in case [I advanced to the final round]," Barrett said. "It was unbelieveable. I had never won anything before."

Ontario begins its third quest for the Kelly Cup on Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3, as they host Game One and Game Two of their Western Conference Quarterfinals series against the Utah Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
