Defenseman Cody Wild Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Cody Wild has been assigned by the Boston Bruins from the Providence Bruins of the AHL to Reading. In separate transactions, the Royals also announced that (i) defenseman Todd Perry has been returned to Reading from the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL; (ii) defenseman Dallas Jackson has been placed on the 3-Day Injured Reserve; and (iii) forward Casey Haines has been placed on the 7-Day Injured Reserve.

Wild (6'1/205) (23), a third year pro who hails from North Providence, Rhode Island, has picked up an assist and two penalty minutes in six games with the P-Bruins this season. A fifth round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2006, Wild was acquired by Boston in March of last season in a trade that sent former Royal Matt Marquardt to the Oilers. Wild, who is in his third full season as a pro, has registered thirty-nine points (5g-34a) and eighty-six penalty minutes in 133 total AHL games with the P-Bruins and Springfield Falcons. He has also played in ten ECHL games with the Stockton Thunder (1g-3a4pts). Prior to turning pro, Wild played three seasons at Providence College, where twice led the team's defensemen in scoring and racked up fifty-seven total points (16g-41a) and eighty penalty minutes in 100 college games.

The Royals take on the Wheeling Nailers tonight (Sunday, December 19, 2010 @ 7:30 pm) at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia.
