The Nailers are coming off an impressive a 7-2 victory over the Cincinnati Cylclones on Saturday night at US Bank Arena. Wheeling exploded for five goals in the final third perod of last nights game to reclaim first place in the North Division. Alex Smigelski is riding a 7-game point scoring streak, registering 9 points (7g, 2a) during that stretch. The Nailers have outscored their opponents 39-18 in the last seven games. Reading is coming off a 3-2 road win last night at Kalamazoo. The Royals are lead by forward Matt Caruana, who has 26 points on the season scoring 14 goals. Reading boasts an impressive road record of 9-4, while holding on to the number one spot in the Atlantic Division.
Transactions: Ben Street and Jason Desantis have been returned by Wilkes-Barre Scranton of the American Hockey League. Wheeling also signed goaltender Mike Brown to a contract. Brown appeared in six games this season with Trenton, posting 3 wins.
