Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades wrapped up this past week ¬â¢s action with a 1-1-1 record in three road games against South Division opponents. Overall, the Everblades enter this week ¬â¢s action with a record of 17-12-1 (35 pts., 2nd South Division.)
THIS WEEK (All Times Eastern)
Tuesday & Wednesday. December 21 & 22 vs. Gwinnett Gladitors Both Games at 7:30 p.m.
GAME NOTES: The Everblades return home before the ECHL breaks for Christmas to take on the Gwinnett Gladiators for a pair of games at Germain Arena. The games are the fourth and fifth of 12 between the South Division rivals and the third and fourth of six at Germain Arena. The Everblades are 1-2-0 vs. Gwinnett this season and are 1-1-0 at home vs. the Gladiators. The teams haven ¬â¢t met since the second weekend of the season back on October 23. All-time the Everblades are 33-29-8 vs. Gwinnett and are 19-10-6 all-time at home vs. the Gladiators. Gwinnett enters this week ¬â¢s action winless in their last eight games (0-7-1) and with an overall record of 12-11-5 (29 pts., T-3rd, South Division).

Wednesday, December 15 at Greeenville Road Warriors 5-1 Win
The Everblades got their road trip off to a strong start, upending the division leading Road Warriors 5-1. Although Greenville scored the game ¬â¢s first goal less than two minutes into the game, the Everblades ripped off the game ¬â¢s next five goals. Mitch Fadden led the way with two goals and an assist. Alex Imbeault, Francis Lemieux and Mathieu Roy scored the other three goals for the Everblades, who notched three goals in the first period and two in the second. In goal Bobby Raymond picked up the win after stopping 27 of 28 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-of-5; PK: 4-of-4.
Friday, December 17 at South Carolina Stingrays 3-0 Loss
The Everblades saw their win six game road winning streak snapped on Friday night at South Carolina. Stingrays goaltender Tod Ford picked up his second shutout of the season after stopping all 20 shots he faced. Offensively the Rays tallied one goal in the second and one in the third to open a 2-0 lead before sealing the game with an empty net goals. It was only the second time the Everblades have been blanked in 2010-11. In net for the Everblades Jaroslav Janus suffered the loss allowing two goals on 29 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 0-of-5; PK: 4-of-5.
Sunday, December 19 at South Carolina Stingrays 3-2 Shootout Loss
The Everblades gained a point in the standings on Sunday at South Carolina, but saw the Stingrays come from behind to collect a 3-2 shootout win. The Everblades opened the scoring midway through the first period on a Mike McKenzie goal, then after South Carolina tied the game with a short-handed marker in the second period regained their lead with an early third period power play goal by Francis Lemieux. The Stingrays however tied the game midway through the third period then out-scored the Everblades 2-0 in the shootout for the extra points. Goaltender Bobby Goepfert picked up a tie in the standings after stopping 21 of 23 shots in regulation and overtime. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-of-4; PK: 4-of-4.

Player of the Week Nominee: This week ¬â¢s Everblades goalie of the week nominee is Bobby Goepfert who was 1-0-1 with a goals against average of 1.44 in two games this past week.
Special Teams Breakdown: Entering this week, here ¬â¢s a look at the Everblades power play and penalty killing: On the power play the Everblades rank 5th in the ECHL at 21.3 % (32-of-150) ¬Â¦at home the Blades are ranked 5th in the league at 22.6 % (14-of-62) ¬Â¦on the road the Everblades rank 6th at 20.5 % (18-of-88). On the penalty kill the Everblades find themselves 2nd in the ECHL at 88.1 % (118-of-134) ¬Â¦at home the Everblades enter the week ranked 3rd at 88.9 % (56-of-63) ¬Â¦on the road the Blades are currently 5th at 87.3 % (62-of-71).
League Leaders: Coming into this week the Everblades have two of the league ¬â¢s top five scorers. Mitch Fadden continues to pace the league with his 42 points and his 30 assists currently lead the ECHL ¬Â¦ Francis Lemieux who is third in the ECHL in scoring with 34 points and is fourth in the ECHL in assists with 22 ¬Â¦Alex Imbeault is currently tied for the league lead with his 15 goals and is the league leader with eight power play goals ¬Â¦Goaltending wise, Bobby Goepfert ranks 8th in the ECHL in goals against average with a 2.45 mark and is also tied for 5th in the league with his 10 wins.
Milestones Reached: Forward Ross Carlson and defenseman Ethan Graham both reached the same milestone on this past road trip as both players skated in their 200th career game. Carlson accomplished the feat in Wednesday ¬â¢s 5-1 win at Greenville and Graham reached the milestone in Sunday ¬â¢s 3-2 shootout loss at South Carolina.
Approaching Milestones: Here ¬â¢s a look at Everblades that are approaching milestones in the careers: F Mathieu Roy is 15 points away from recording 100 points as a member of the Everblades ¬Â¦F Alex Imbeault finds himself 13 points shy of 200 in his career...D Mike Egener is seven games shy of playing in his 300th career game.
