SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Chad De La Guerra and Chris Owings combined for five hits, but the Pawtucket Red Sox fell to the Syracuse Mets, 6-3, on Wednesday night at NBT Bank Stadium.
The PawSox (31-45) scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to snatch a 2-1 lead, but Syracuse (38-40) tied the game in the home half of the sixth and scored four runs in the seventh to vault in front in the opener of the brief two-game series.
In his sixth game with the PawSox, Chris Owings went 3-for-4 with an RBI single that gave Pawtucket the lead in the top of the sixth inning.
