WELCOME HOME: The Bats just finished a season-long 8-game road trip and will begin a homestand, also 8 games, against their 3 IL West Division foes through July 3. The Bats last played a home game 10 days ago on Sunday, June 16 vs. Buffalo. Tonight, right-hander Brad Markey will look to throw his third quality start in his fifth career outing with the Bats.

AGAINST TOLEDO: The Bats meet the Mud Hens for the first time in a month, currently holding a 2-game winning streak against Toledo. In the clubs' last matchup from May 24-27, Toledo took the first 2 games of the series by a combined 30-8 score, before Louisville won the final 2 games to split the series, scoring a combined 17 runs in those 2 victories.

THANKS FOR COMING BACK, JOSH: Infielder Josh VanMeter went 2-for-4 in last night's loss, now batting .444 (11-for-25) in 6 games since being optioned by the Reds, picking up right where he left off after taking home the IL Player of the Month honors for April.

O'G25: First baseman Brian O'Grady went 2-for-4 with his 16th home run of the season on Tuesday, tying Aristides Aquino for most on the team. It was also his 25th multi-hit game of the season, leading Louisville as a club. Last season, D.J. Peterson led the Bats with 36 multi-hit games.

THE GREATEST PINCH HITTER OF ALL-TIME: Louisville's Narciso Crook went deep in the eighth inning last night, now batting .583 (7-for-12) as a pinch-hitter this season. Crook's shot was the second LOU pinch-hit homer this season, joining Sherman Johnson who did it on April 12 vs. Gwinnett. Crook's 7 pinch hits already surpass the Bats' individual-high last season, with Hernan Iribarren leading the club with 6.

CC17: Shortstop Christian Colon stole his 17th base of the season last night, now tied for the IL lead with Buffalo's Anthony Alford. For the 30-year-old World Series champion Colon, the 17 stolen bases ties a career-high, set back in 2011 for the Class AA Northwest Arkansas Naturals back when he was a 22-year-old Top 100 prospect.

LOUISVILLE CARDINAL TO MAKE START: Tonight's Mud Hens starting pitcher Kyle Funkhouser is a University of Louisville product who's made 2 starts against the Bats so far this season. In the outings, the right-hander is recordless with a 3.86 ERA (3er/7.0ip) with 4 hits allowed, walking 5 and striking out 11. Funkhouser started against the Bats on Opening Day, and also on April 30, not allowing a hit in the latter start, with both appearances coming at Fifth Third Field.

- He will be the second UofL product to start on the mound at Louisville Slugger Field this season, joining LHP Josh Rogers, who started on April 26 in what ended up being the highest scoring game in park history as the Tides won, 16-14.

A JUNE TO FORGET: The Bats are 5-18 in the month of June, needing to win out in the month if they want to avoid their worst June by winning percentage in club history, which is currently owned by the 1997 Redbirds, who finished the month 10-19 (.345). Over their last 10 seasons (2010-19), Louisville has finished June above .500 just twice: in 2014 (17-11) and 2018 (14-13).
