(Allentown, Pa) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (35-40) suffered one of their most devastating losses in 2019 as the Rochester Red Wings (37-39) won 19-6 on Wednesday night. The IronPigs allowing 19 runs is a new season high in most runs allowed.

Rochester jumped out to a 4-0 lead against Tyler Viza (1-7) in the top of the first inning. Jaylin Davis hit a two-run double and two more runs scored on a fielding error by Phil Gosselin. The Red Wings extended their lead to 6-0 in the top of the third inning as Davis hit an RBI triple and

Jordany Valdespin hit an RBI double.

Jan Hernandez hit a sacrifice fly off Drew Hutchison (6-4) in the bottom of the third inning to get Lehigh Valley on the scoreboard. Malquin Canelo scored on an RBI groundout by Andrew Romine to cut the Red Wings lead to 6-2.

Brent Rooker homered off Viza in the top of the fourth inning to extend Rochester's lead to 7-2. Viza allowed two more runs in the top of the fifth inning before leaving with one runner on base. Josh Tols entered the game to pitch in relief of Viza.

The Red Wings continued their onslaught by scoring two more runs in the top of the fifth inning and six runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Ali Castillo added a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning and Lane Adams hit an RBI double for the third run of the inning for Lehigh Valley.

Lehigh Valley and Rochester wrap up their two-game series on Thursday evening at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
