Dayton Bombers News Release

BOMBERS NOTES

*Moving On Up! The Bombers started the week in 6th place in the North Division, but after five consecutive victories, they have moved past everyone ahead of them in the standings except for the first place Cincinnati Cyclones. The Cyclones are well within the Bombers grasp however, only holding onto first place by two points in the Division. The Bombers will have a chance to take over first place when they take on the Cyclones this Friday at U.S. Bank Arena at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first time the two teams have met since January 27th (Bombers won 1-0 at home).

*There's No "I" in This Team! During the Bombers current five game winning streak every single Bombers skater has chipped in at least one point and in two of the five games, seven different players have contributed multiple point games.

*Offensive Explosion! After only averaging less than three goals per game on the season (2.8), the Bombers offense has now scored 40 goals in the last 10 games. 28 of those 40 goals have come in the last five games during the current season high winning streak. The Bombers have also scored 12 goals in their last two home games (6-2 win vs. Toledo 2/27 and 6-0 win over Trenton 3/4).

*A Goaltender in The Rough! Terry Denike has made five straight starts in goal for the Bombers due to call ups of All Star Adam Berkhoel and rookie Dan LaCosta. Denike was playing in the SPHL with the Florida Seals when the team closed down its operations. Since arriving in Dayton, all he has done is win. In his last five starts, he is 5-0-0 with a shutout, 1.40 goals against and .955 save percentage.

* Bombs Away! The Bombers have out shot their opponents in 43 of 53 games played in this season and have fired 40 shots on goal in 11 of those 43 games (6-4-1 record). They are currently ranked 7th in the ECHL averaging 34.06 shots for per game and lead the league in least shots against at 26.58 allowed per game.

LOOK OUT BELOW

*Tifu Stays Red Hot! Leading scorer Yannick Tifu added to his totals this week with 13 more points (4 G, 9 A) in five games. He had a Bombers season high five points alone against Wheeling on Friday and added four more the next night in Reading. Tifu now has 66 (22 G, 44 A) points in 59 games played this season.

* Upcoming Promotions! Saturday's game against Wheeling will feature the Z93 'Music on the Ice" shootout challenge. Fans will have a chance to enter and compete in the shootout to win one of three Fender Guitars compliments of Willis Music. The Bombers will also be wearing a promotional jersey that will feature their new alternate logo in honor of Military Appreciation Night. Following the game, the special worn jerseys will be auctioned off with all the proceeds going to benefit the Fisher/Nightingale Houses.

IMPORTANT WEEK AHEAD! Dayton returns to the ice Friday night, as they look take over first place from the Cincinnati Cyclones at U.S. Bank Arena at 7:30 p.m. Then on Saturday the Bombers will play the first of a home in home series with the Wheeling Nailers at 7:00 p.m. at the Nutter Center.
