'Blades raise over $31,000 for breast cancer charities with jersey auction

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades are proud to announce that it raised $31,031 for Breast Cancer Awareness during its Valentine's Day Jersey Auction held on February 14.

The 'Blades wore the special jerseys with a pink Everblades logo and pink numbers during their Feb. 14 game vs. Gwinnett at Germain Arena. Following the game, the game-worn jerseys were auctioned off, with the money raised will being split between two charities. $15,500 of the money went to the Susan G. Korman Foundation and $15,531will benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

Reggie Berg's jersey brought the highest bid, going for $5,000 and Brent McDonald's jersey brought in the second highest bid at $3,800. The rest of the top five saw Vince Bellissimo's jersey go for $2,600, Dustin Johner's go for $1,400 and David Brine's sell for $1,350.

The Florida Everblades, proud affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers, return to the ice on Tuesday, March 6 when they travel to Duluth, GA to take on the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. from the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
