Daubenspeck Named ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - South Carolina Stingrays netminder Kirk Daubenspeck was named the East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week yesterday, for the week of February 10-16.

Daubenspeck, who also won the award on October 28, went 3-0 with a 2.00 goals against average and a .940 save percentage in three games last week.

Daubenspeck made 35 saves in a 6-2 win against Columbus on Tuesday and had 30 saves in a 5-3 win at Pee Dee on Thursday. He closed out the week making 29 saves in a 2-1 win at Charlotte.

The Madison, Wis. native leads the ECHL with 28 wins with a 3.16 goals against average and a .906 save percentage and he leads the ECHL in wins (27), minutes (2,715), and saves (1,375).

The Stingrays will play on the road on Friday in Greenville, before returning home to face the Charlotte Checkers on Saturday night. Saturday night is Comcast Dave Seitz Bobble Head Night. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive Dave Seitz Bobble Head Dolls.
