
Condors and Houchin Hold February Blood Drive

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors and Houchin Community Blood Bank have teamed up to reward donors during the month of February. Anyone donating a pint of blood throughout the month will receive a free terrace ticket to the game on Tuesday, March 4th.
Houchin has two locations in Bakersfield, at 5901 Truxtun Avenue and at 2600 G Street. Thus far, over 500 people have donated blood during the month.
Highlighting the month long program is an appearance scheduled for Thursday night from 5:00-6:00pm at the Truxtun location. Center Shawn Byram and goaltender Kevin St. Pierre will be on hand signing autographs and handing out vouchers to donors.
"I think the relationship between the Houchin Community Blood Bank and the Condors has been mutually beneficial," said HCBB CEO Greg Gallion. "The Condors have always made a commitment for increasing our supply and have been very supportive and generous in the past with our efforts.
"This is such an important cause," said Condors Community Relations Director John Ayre. "There's always a need for donors and if we can help them out, then that's great.
The Condors are at home this weekend with a pair of games against the Long Beach Ice Dogs. Friday's game features the debut of SpongeBob Squarepants and Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius at Centennial Garden, sponsored by Time Warner Cable and 101.5 KGFM. On Saturday night, the first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a free Condors Metal Lunch Pail, courtesy of KGET-TV 17, Mercedes-Benz of Bakersfield and Subway. Both games start at 7:00pm.
Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, which is open from 10:00am-6:00pm Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
Condors droppings: The Condors will hold a KBID 1350 Public Skate on Sunday, February 23rd from 1:00-3:00pm. Admission is just $7. Skate rental is available for an additional $3... The monthly website auction for February features dinner with a pair of Condors players. The winner and a friend can select from available players for a dinner "on the house" at Chili's.
