Three Pride players to appear at Boys and Girls Club tomorrow

FLORENCE, SC – Three members of the Pee Dee Pride will be appearing at the Boys and Girls Club of the Pee Dee Area tomorrow, Thursday, February 20, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Eric Naud, Matt Reid and Allan Sirois will teach and play street hockey with the youngsters.

This appearance is part of the Pride's involvement in "Hockey Is For Everyone" Month, which the NHL and ECHL are celebrating during the month of February. The program is designed to educate fans on the growing diversity of hockey at both the major and minor-league levels.

Members of the media are invited to attend this appearance, and get interviews the players, participants or Boys and Girls Club staff members. The Boys and Girls Club is located at 310 N. Roughfork Street in Florence. Other upcoming community appearances for Pride players include:

· March 4 – Matt Underhill speaking at Marion High School about his degree in linguistics from Cornell University.

· March 4 – Several players will be speaking at Palmetto Elementary School in Mullins.

· March 4 – Mike Glumac and Jason Metcalfe will be participating in the Girl Scouts "Dining Out with the Stars."

· March 20 – Dan Carriere and Jason Metcalfe will be at Lifeway Christian Store in Florence promotion a post-game concert by Christian group FFH following the March 22nd game.

The Pride have two games remaining on their road trip, playing at Richmond on Friday (7:35 p.m.) and at Roanoke on Saturday (8:00 p.m.). Pee Dee returns home Sunday afternoon with a 2:30 matinee against the Greenville Grrrowl. It's another Sunday Kids' Day at the Lion's Den, with all 400-level tickets for kids 12 and under just $2. In addition, there will be face painting, balloon animals and other activities for kids throughout the day. Following the game, Pride season ticket holders will have the opportunity to skate with the Pride. Tickets for the skate can be purchased for $5 at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, starting at 1:00 on Sunday. Fans must present either a season-ticket or their VIP Card in order to purchase a skating ticket.
