Four Assigned To Chiefs

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today, that forwards Sam St. Pierre, and Matt Doman, along with goaltender Peter Aubry and defenseman Ian Manzano were assigned to the team by the Saint John Flames (AHL).

Doman, 23, will be making his ECHL and Chiefs debut tonight when the Chiefs travel to Toledo to take on the Storm (7:00 p.m.) Doman has appeared in 17 games for Saint John this season, scoring one goal. The 5'11, 200 LBS native of St. Cloud, MN starred in four seasons at the University of Wisconsin, where he played in 135 games, scoring 26 goals and 65 points. Doman was a fifth round draft pick of the Calgary Flames (135th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

Aubry and St. Pierre were loaned to the Flames on Sunday, where they both saw action in Saint John's 3-3 tie at Lowell. Aubry started the game, allowed three goals, and then was pulled in the second period in favor of former Chiefs goaltender Dany Sabourin. St. Pierre was scoreless in the contest. Manzano was loaned to the Flames on February 9th, and played in four of six games the Flames had during that period, posting one assist.

All four players will be available for the Chiefs game tonight at Toledo.

The Chiefs are at home Friday night when they take on Trenton, and Saturday night the 1,000th ECHL game in franchise history will be held when the Chiefs host the Toledo Storm (7:30 p.m.).
